Anne Schoepp

Anne-Schoepp-09Anne Schoepp, began singing in church choir at age eight, studied piano, voice, and violin in her youth, and holds a B.A. in Music from Stanford University (1985) with emphases in voice, choral conducting and composition. Ms. Schoepp taught piano and voice privately from 1985-1992.  She composes and arranges church and children’s choir music primarily for use at St. Lawrence Orthodox Church in Felton, California, where she conducts the liturgical choir together with Alice Hughes. She also directs the St. Lawrence Youth Choir, teaches K–8 music, and directs the school musicals at St. Lawrence Academy, where the youngest of her five children attends. As a partner in Seraphim Six Productions, Ms. Schoepp, together with Ms. Hughes, has produced five recordings of Orthodox liturgical music in English, and many choral editions of liturgical music. She is a co-founder, board member, and currently secretary of PSALM, Pan-Orthodox Association of Liturgical Musicians, and has organized PSALM’s West Coast Liturgical Singing Seminar since its inception in 1994. She sang with The Josquin Singers (Berkeley, CA) for their spring season 2010, and currently sings with the Santa Cruz Chorale, and serves as their assistant choral coach. She also performs on vocals, fiddle and mandolin with the acoustic Americana band, Seraphim Zupan and the Innocent Bystanders.
